hi ppl...
the babe is back after a very long hiatus of time..!!
iam rewritin this blog since GOOGLE cranked up my earlier write up and it failed to register on my blog..!
i love reading.! it lets u open ur mind for imagination and lets ur creative juices flow..!
recently i have developed a passion of reading novels written by indian authors ( usually mid 20's aged ppl) and these are pure fiction with interesting stories, attention-grabbing titles and the pricing is apt for the student wallet.!
Such writers have a USP of writing in the colloquial language or slangs (as we call it)... we can easily identify with the characters and their apathy since they behave and talk just as we youngsters do in real life..!!
Ah... it feels gr8 reading abt all the Cuss words we use, the masti we do..the romance we feel/or wanna experience etc....
the writing makes u relax for the time being and gives u a sense of brotherhood as u see someone else( here the fictional character) undergoin the same situations as u are!!
From a marketing point of view, the publishers get more visibilty and business since these books cost less ( their Production cost will definitely be less), have an available market, and no need to host book tours of the authors etc..!!
book fanatics like me scrounge up bookstores on a regular basis to find more such books which gives u an easy read and value for ur money...
Such books are usually priced between 100-200.!
Second hand bookstores in bangalore (esp in MG road) gives u more variety of international authors at more or less same rates..
the bookstores are BOOKWORM ( shrungar shopping complex, MG rd) and Blossoms ( Opp Amoeba, church street)..!!
Some Indian authored books i would recommend are:
Almost single by advaitha kala.
Oh SHit! not again..
Of Course i love u till i find someone else..
Mediocre but arrogant and Married but available by abhijit bhaduri
Chip of the old block and so on...
FOr book lovers the must read books are
Kite Runner by khaled hosseini..
Thousand Splendid Suns by khaled hosseini
Tell me ur dreams by sidney sheldon..!!
i guess this much info is good enough..!!!
hope u enjoy reading my suggestions...
muaaahh !!

IPL...!!
hey ppl... the devil is back after a long hiatus of time..!!
i was racking my brains to come up with a topic when suddenly our little wonder of IBS miss priyanka bajaj suggested this topic..!!
though let me confess, iam not a avid follower/fan of cricket..! u can coin me as a layman in terms of cricket..!! however, this is my humble effort to write abt this HUGE FORMAT called the Indian Premier League..!
Kudos to Mr. lalit modi, the brains behind this indian format to come up with a business model which combines glamour, cricket, business and entertainment!!
the moolah raked by the Cricket Authorities in form of franchisees payments, viewer rights, advertisements etc is unimaginable..!!
its sort of a win win situation to all..! stars get more popularity, Max gets more Eyeballs ( as in viewership), new cricketers bein encouraged, indian ppl get their fill of cricket ( considering it as an indian Religion of sorts), voyeurs get their fill by seeing the cheeerleaders and so on..!!
sone pe suhaaga will be for the cricketers who get hefty pay packages..
wht i dnt understand is, wht do the cricketers feel when they are pitted against their own country team mates!?
wht an irony of life, the home team is divided and pitted whereas it is serving as a global interactin platform..!!
phew..no wonder it is complicated for me..! hehhehe..
however.. i personally support many teams..yah i know its weird but kya karen !!
i love Rajasthan Royals for their superb team spirit and abilities..
Kolkata Knight Riders, only and only for my cutie SRK!!
Royal challengers since they are my karmabhoomi team... bengaluru rocks..
SUper Kings because iam crazy abt Muttiah and Dhoni..
IPl bein held in south africa doesnt make much sense! the tickets for the match would have been sold out housefull in india!! tumba loss of revenue there.!!
to conclude.. i like watching it in company of frds with the yelling and shouting and the betting..!! anywyas this also seems a better bet than watching movies in multiplex since no movies are released :(..!!
tc... play safe !!

Marriage..!!
Marriage.. Vivah...Shaadi.. Wedding...holy matrimony..!!
Many names are given to the pious bonding between a man and a woman committed for a lifetime of togetherness...for the good and the bad times...
It symbolises a committment between the individuals and also between their families...
Tonight, me and my 4 frds gossipped 7 and half hours in the hostel ( alongwith tang and maggi) about this topics(amongst various others )... it got me thinking..and finally i decided to blog it down @ 6 AM...!!
Marriages are of 2 types..arranged and love..
arranged means when ur family ( read parents) fix u up with a guy of their choice..and love is when u fix urself up and inform ur family lols....!!
Traditionally in India.. child marriages have been found to be extremely common..esp in the rural areas..!! however it was APPARENTLY abolished.. unfortunately its still prevalent..!!
i dnt understand the logic of marrying 2 young children who dnt even know the meanign of the word MARRIAGE !!
Balika Vadhu, the number one serial on air currently, potrays this concept brialliantly..hence.. iam not continuing it further..
other stigmas attached to traditional weddings was the SATI,widows and dowry system..
sati is when the woman(widowed) is expected to immolate herself in the pyre of her husband's dead body..!! This practice is currently abolished..however i get to hear a rare news of it occuring in same goddamn remote area of our country..!!
Widows suffered a worst plight at the hands of the women who were self appointed as the moral police of the society...
dnt sit here, dnt eat this, dnt wear this, dnt take part in this festivity, called abshaguni etc are some of the EMOTIONAL ATYACHARS suffered..
for more visual details...do watch Raj Kapoor's Prem Rog...!!
Dowry System.!! its a sophisticated of telling "yes iam selling my daughter"..!! dude..not happening..!! beti dena ek bada punya ka kaam hota hai..!! and we belittle it for some cash???
FUck... not happening..!!
The incidents heard ( esp in bihar-up side) abt mother in laws burning their daughter in laws is horrifying.!! if ur son is incapable of earnign tht much ( as expected) why the fuck u expect ur DIL to fulfill it from the coffers of her parents household???
Ok... lets see the present scenario..!!
these days...marriages @ times are just a business conveniences..!! Sometimes they strike bullseye..or they might turn topsy turvy...( not applicable in all cases)...
It has also turned into a huge business in itself... read: matrimonial services..!
The sex ratio is so skewed right now. that guys are ready to marry, yet finding no girls to hook on ..!!
DIVORCE! this is the most convenient way to get out of marriage...! for any sick and stupid reasons..ppl get divorced..this has also turned into a huge business racket..
Also lead parallel business like marriage counsellors etc...
I feel @ times...getting a DIVORCEE tag is also a status symbol..lols...
coming to my and my frds' beliefs.. i/we prefer arranged marriages..after all ur parents will know better abt things in life.. they will definitely look for a good household for u to wed into..!
however in love marriages.. if the guy iam dating is good enough to fulfill my parents expectations.. then only i would get him home.!! Since i dnt see the need to pursue a relationship to its fullest when i know its not going to be fruitful..!!
i also believe...all love-shove cannot end in marriage..! njoy the present time u have! simple... life will be so uncomplicated..!!
however the love marriage has its positive side... as the saying going " known devils are better than unknown devils" hehehehe!!
Extra marital affairs...!
its seriously not happening with me and my beliefs..!! when i give the guy full COMMITTMENT, i expect the same from him..!
yes this definitely means..no screwing aroung behind my back!! i would leave him if circumstances go awry wrong..!!!!
I also believe marriages shd be between ppl who belong to the same status class.. as in same economic background ( or the guy one notch up)..
i would never compromise my lifestyle and my parents reputation and get married to a person who is less financially sound than me.!! Not happening with me!!
I think i have written enough on this topic..
please feel free to comment and add ur own viewpoints..
once again thanks for reading and appreciating my writing and thoughts..!!
god bless...play safe... tc !!

GPA v/s Knowledge..!
i got a rap from my uncle today for scoring a 5.something cgpa..according to him and others, CGPA do count a lot ( read:important) and gives u some value addition..
however,i beg to differ..!
for me...i believe tht cgpa is just a eligibility cut off to sit for placements..Its over hyped and over rated..!!
what happened for the knowledge we thirst for?? wht abt learning abt different business terminologies(with their applications etc),strategies etc??
i believe in the knowledge MBA imparts and not the shit we dole out in papers to get marks!
@ times,u may or may not remember some points in the test paper, does that mean we are dodos?? we know nothing?? a mere test paper cannnot decide our fate.. it can lead us on a track but not decide..!
let me come back to cgpa matter, and tell u the reality.. the more closer a person gets to a professor the more numbers(marks) he gets..!! its a said and done thing in IBSB..! something like "u take care of me and i will see u r taken care of"..! many ppl in IBSB are crazy abt GPAs just to secure a job.. their motivational factors are different. from proving a point till paying of their loans! the book worms who make a mark on the GPA roster may or may not achieve the desired knowledge!
to conclude...
i give a damn abt gpa.. it doesnt define what type of a person iam or i would be!!
but the knowledge i got from MBA ( yes, its a definite value addition! iam seeing business in a clearer and better perspective) is definitely worth its salt !! a 5 pointer may exceed in his career tremendously whereas a 9 pointer may fail to do so !! its all upto ur capabilities and abilities.

Exams and their torture..!!
hey ppl.
the devil is back in the blogging scene.I was temporarily disconnected owing to the "EXAM PRESSURE".....
firstly let me advise all the MBA aspirants not 2 pursue this goddamn degree...
its too stressful and demanding.. even if u survive it (even by a margin), the placements (carrot at the end of the stick) is a far flung dream... thanks to the heavy word RECESSION...!!
now,.. coming back to the ICFAI BUSINESS SCHOOL EXAM For 2nd sem... ur marked on the basis of ur paper but on how ur neighbour performs.. yes this distorted system is called relative grading.. it can make ur GPa or break it..
An important Qualification/trait u have is MASKAFYING! u must be capable to butter ur faculty to the hilt...in our parlance it is called A** licking..! very very essential (iam poor @ it so less marks).. this is in lieu of internal marks.. they form crucial part of ur grades.
Exam time in our hostel was sight to behold... everyone awake till the wee hours of morning... making coffee @ 3 in the morning for a bunch of girls who feel like burning the book cover to cover..!
and we greeted others by "are u able to study? how much did u complete?"
whereas i was " excuse me ? which exam 2mrw? portion??"lol..
our nerves were frayed to the last neuron..so much to cram.. so much to understand.. plain and simple SO MUCH !! but less time..
i actually went blank in HR paper.. thanks to the sleepless nights earlier..!
the variety of mixed emotions found after the exam was hilarious.. esp LAw and Finance papers.. only word which everyone ( i mean 540 students) said GOT RAPED !!!!
yet everyone was dutifully logged in Gtalk and with their Superb Taglines....
i had never studied so much in my entire life as i did for this exams.. i just wanted to clear all papers and not give summer term..phew.. it was streneous !!!
chalo at the end of the day, we got raped by few papers and we managed to rape few papers...
right now my whole batch is chilling @ their homes and waiting in anticipation to see whatt the SIP time turns out to be..
All's well that ends Well..

Bollywood..!!
The hindi movie industry has come a long way from alam ara ( the first talkative movie)... many directors, actors, actresses, singers, musicians etc have proved their talents consistently. well since it is a huge topic to b discussed, i rather prefer to write abt things that fascinate me and my own perceptive.
i loved the way mughal-e-azam was shot and its music.. i mean the way the sets were constructed, the jewellery and the songs were mindblowing..! the way madhubala danced for "pyaar kiya to darna kya" was mesmerizing... loved the shot when she says ( pointing at akbar , well potrayed by prithviraj kapoor) ab bandon se darna kya ! ...mashallahhh !!!
Loved all item numbers by HELEN !! wow.. she had the oomoh and cutzpah of rocking the screen... be it mehbooba mehbooba, aa jaane ja, yeh mera dil or monica .... she was awesome..!! her clothes were a step ahead of their times and she carried it off with elan...!!
the haunting, slow and fast music ( in short retro music) has its own charm..... be it aayega aanewala, mera saaya,om shanti om, waada raha sanam, kitna pyara wada etc... were like a soothing balm to ur senses....
the couples in bollywood had a sizzling chemistry ( hard to find it these days) examples: neetu--rishi, amitabh--rekha,rishi-dimple etc ... these couples were usually only for reel... but i would have loved to see amitabh and rekha together..
moving to the present.. we find very hyped and no substance movies.. i was lured and duped when i saw saawariya.. i mean common i didnt get my money's worth ( it would have been worthwhile if i saw ranbir fullly nude lol).. the most trashiest and certainly not expected from sanjay leela bansali... TASHAN... god plz forgive our sins when we actually saw the movie(or anyone who evn thought abt it).. awesome publicity campaign.. but no damnn story
We literally have to leave behind our brains @ home when we step in the threshold of a theatre (oops i mean multiplex, theatre is so passe)... but yes we shdnt forget out wallets for the $2 worth coke... this is price discrimination !!!
Loved the movie BLACK and taare zameen par.. i actually could relate to the characters and their apathy..!! wow.. that was hard hitting..!! i cried copiously thru the movie...
i just love shahrukh.. he is cute and hot but his movies goddamn it make no fucking sense.
i mean take kuch kuch hota hai... his line " pyaar ek baar hota hain, shaadi bhi ek baar hoti hain " so ba****** why did u love and marry twice?? huh??
next we see kal ho naa ho.. which is hailed as a innovative movie because it introduces homosexuality to indians.. ( aint we familiar here mr.johar??) .. i mean that movie was a mockery @ times to different situational crisis. !
well.. cant think of a specific movie now to bitch..( there are toooo manby to cchoose from)..
am sure the producers are saving a lot in the costume dept. the ladies get skimpy or fab inida stuff to wear(so they feel the character lol) and the men appear to be wearing their own stuff..
the Toast of the season these days are the low budgeted movies targetted at the multiplex junta.. i mean the movies a wednesday, the president is coming, dasvidaniya etc were actually path breaking, thought provoking and sensible..
when will other producers and directors wake up and realise that the audience have matured and evolved..we dont want see actors running around (ooty) trees, or crying (thanks to glycerine) etc... we want them to be real characters.. to which we can relate to etc...
and one advice, cut the publicity rumours and the crappy stuff..!! stop projecting ur lead actors in an false affair(which they deny hoarsely) just to pull audience in theatre..
FUCK u .. i am not paying 160 rupees to see a trash movie in a multiplex..i can download it and just fast forward watch it..hell with piracy laws etc...
well these was a quick take on bollywood..
plz post comments and views.. also suggestions for the next blog topic..
